As a parent, it’s nice if you can get your kids to recycle at an early age. Recycling is a way to keep our environment clean and to help reuse the items that are recyclable. Teaching kids how to recycle is an important learning lesson for them and will help them realize the importance of recycling.
Begin having your child save any soda cans that they have. Rinse them out and collect them in a large trash bin. Once you have several trash bins full of cans, stomp or hammer out the cans and store them in large trash bags. When you get ready to take these to your local recycling company, take your child along, so he or she can see how recycling works. Reward your child with some of the earning you receive from the recycled cans. This is not only a great way to teach your child the importance of recycling, but will also teach them to save and earn money.
If your child has old story books when they were younger, show him how to donate these to his school or his local library. Donating books to the school will save the school money from buying new books and will prevent additional trash that is collected in the trash cans which eventually will end up at a dump somewhere.
Those 2-liter soda bottles are also recyclable. Your child can help keep the earth green by saving these soda bottles and placing them at a designated place where they accept plastic. These plastic bottles will be used for many things and can be recycled to make other items other than 2-liter bottles.
Teaching children how to recycle and explaining the importance of recycling will give the child better knowledge of what recycling is all about. Make the recycling process fun for your child. This is the first step that will keep your child wanting to recycle.

One other office item that can be recycled is a printer cartridge. In United States alone, about 700 000 cartridges are thrown away every year. Each time you buy a remanufactured printer cartridge, you have prevented about two and a half pounds of metal and plastic going to a land fill and saved about half a gallon of oil. If all cartridges in United State would be remanufactured it would mean 1.75 million of pounds less waste in our landfills and saving of 350 000 gallons of oil.
There re many examples like these all around us, and that is just considering the savings we can made. The impact on the environment is whole different ball game, as the effects of our behavior are already starting to hurt us. If we do not change our habits, the world we leave to our children will be drastically worst than the one we inherited from our parents.

Since these recycled bags are used everywhere in grocery stores these days, some people are wondering is it save or even necessary. These bags are usually made out of cloth. When you buy meat, it sometimes leaks and makes a mess. This is why the health hazard questions are coming from. This is why some people have raised eyebrows because cloth is nothing but grounds and a cozy place for bacteria to grow. This problem can easily be eliminated. Aluminum is also one of the easiest materials to recycle because it’s 100% recyclable. Aside from aluminum cans, Americans throw away a little over 14 pounds of aluminum a year per person. This can come in the form of foil, wires, gutters and even sidings. These items are all 100% recyclable and yet found in the landfills everyday.
If your house hold isn’t currently doing anything to stop aluminum in the trash, then talk to your mother or father. It’s very simple to recycle; all you have to do is set aside a separate box for used aluminum. You can simply wash it when it’s done, dry it and then place it into the box to be put in the recycle when you throw the trash out into your neighborhood dumpster. This is also a great idea at your job or school, so be sure to see if you guys have one in your local school or job.
While we all drink soda everyday, just one soda can is over 90% easier to make with recycled aluminum verses raw. It takes that much more energy to use fresh material than it does to make recycled aluminum useable. Saving soda cans, tin foil and any other types of aluminum will help save the environment, are easier to re use and are very beneficial to us.
